Five stars isn't enough. I would give Nino's place on Friedrichstraße 1000 stars if I could.
When we walked in, the 12+ foot ceilings, parquet floors, giant windows, and aesthetic perfection took our breath away. The building survived WWII intact, and living for a week in this pre-war architecture is something we will never forget. Nino and her husband live in the building too — which for us a big plus — and they met us when we arrived and gave us a charming tour of the building's facilities and history.
The location is ideal: five minutes to Checkpoint Charlie and 20 minutes to Unter den Linden and the Brandenburg Gate. There are many good restaurants in the neighborhood, and we especially liked Mama Cook, Barcelona, and La Via del Muro. Lidl supermarket right around the corner (don't be scared of the €2.95 wines, they're super!) has everything you need.
Nice as it is to sleep in your own bed, I woke up back home disappointed we weren't still at Nino's in Berlin. We will be back!

We had a wonderful time staying at Nino and Marian's place! They were incredibly attentive to our needs and made us feel very welcome.
The location is close to several attractions yet situated in a regular neighborhood that allowed us to experience the Kreuzberg vibe. Nino and Marian have a deep appreciation for the house's history, and they have preserved many of its old features while updating it with new kitchen and two modern bathrooms.
The apartment was perfect for staying with our child, as it had everything we needed and more. There are also a couple of playgrounds nearby, along with a Lidl supermarket, and the kitchen was well-equipped for cooking.
We truly had everything we needed and felt right at home.
Tip for future visitors: Be sure to check out the Thursday Street Food event at Markthallen Neun and the nearby free Jewish Museum. The museum even has a dedicated section for children, which is great for families with little ones!

From beginning to end, Nino and Marian made our stay in Berlin perfect. They couldn’t have been more helpful and you’d be hard pressed to find any faults with the flat. It’s been beautifully renovated, has just the right amount of fixtures and fittings and everything you could possibly want for a holiday rental. The flat is in an excellent location- nearby landmarks are walkable and the underground is on the doorstep to move more quickly around the city.
Well done Nino and Marian- you’ve done yourselves proud!
